Residents protest lack of power supply in Makurdi, Benue State

Lionel Messi suspended for four games & fined $10,200 for insulting referee

Argentina star player and captain, Lionel Messi was fined the sum of $10,200 and suspended for Argentina's next 4 games for using insulting words on a match official, World football's ruling body, FIFA announced.

Assistant referee Emerson Carvalho ruled a foul against Messi in the second half of last week's Thursday’s game in Chile. Messi strongly disagreed with the ruling and waved his arms while shouting and hurling abuses at Carvalho.

Operatives of SARS, Rivers State Police Command on Monday, arrested three suspects, identified as Sodienye Mbatumukeke, 28, Excel Divine Naabe, 25 and Joy Eluwa.

The suspects allegedly robbed and murdered a JUMIA Courier, who had gone to deliver two iphones and a Super Bike that were ordered online by them at No 4, Adaede Street, Off Ada-George Rd in Port Harcourt.


The corpse of the dead Courier was recovered from a septic where they had hidden him after killing him. His body has been deposited in the mortuary. Meanwhile the suspects are helping the Police and efforts are on to arrest others, fingered in the dastardly act.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki M. Ahmed who led other Senior Police Officers to the scene is appealing to the public to always help the Police solve crimes by sharing useful Information with the Police, promising to flush out all criminal elements in the State.
