PRE-PRODUCTION
Pre-production began in the second half
of August and lasted two months. the production team sourced for professional
script writers to help work on the rough
draft for Daniel Isaac’s story but manager at hood Ryde pictures, jeff dallas
was not satisfied with the result so he decided to develop the script himself with fresh elements that could appeal to
every Nigerian irrespective of their
culture, religion or educational background.
The entire executive members of the
production company funded the film with a bulk of the money coming from Daniel
Isaac.
Jeff dallas’s script was written in
English, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, pidgin English, french, with some of the
prophet’s lines written in ancient latin. Actors, who were mainly Nigerians had
problems adapting to the multi-lingua system adopted by Jeff so he had to co-
direct the film.
PRODUCTION
Principal Photography began on the 1st
of November 2016 and lasted 72 hours
Since most of the scenes were to be inside
a moving vehicle with limited space to mount heavy digital equipment and
accommodate numerous crew members, Daniel Isaac decided to source for a mobile
speed camera but due to its scarcity in Nigeria, he improvised adopting the
apple device with codename N7 that provides deluxe optical image stabilization.
To reduce Strobing, Daniel decided to
shoot at 60 frames per second thus last vehicle is the first cinematic short
film in Nigeria to be shot at that frame rate.
Auxiliary photography was done with a
canon 1200 DSLR camera
The N7 device from apple,Inc is infused with
- Sony exmor RSIMX315 (1.22µm)
-True –tone flash, :
Last vehicle is Daniel Isaac’s debut
cinematic short film, and the first cinematic short film in Nigeria to be shot
at (60fps). Popularly known
as Dee Ryde, the prolific music video director and visual effect specialist
directed and edited the film He also served as cinematographer on the
production and achieved top class cinematography that meet the standard
required by the Academy of motion
picture arts and science.
The plot was written by the autodidact
filmmaking prodigy jeff dallas, who was able to develop a modern cosmopolitan
plot with plausible characters and dialogue sequence. The UNN alumni and distant learning student of
cinematography at the University of Miami proves himself a virtuoso by
masterminding a straight to the point screenplay with thrilling and credible twists and turns. The story
also depicts the conventional lifestyle of the average middle class Nigerian
man/woman. filter, burst mode,f/2.2 aperture
-4k video recording
-30,60 and 120 frames per second
capabilities
-digital image stabilization
Other equipment include drones, cranes
and a deluxe Bluetooth equipped tripod but they were not extensively used in
the production as the cinematographer could achieve even more with the N7
device which could even be held in one hand while filming in an unstable plane
without jerking.
