Basket of Tomato crashes from N25,000 to N800

The price of tomato has crashed from N25,000 to N800 a basket. Few months ago, the price of the essential commodity skyrocketed following the spread of tuta absoluta also known as ‘tomato ebola’ in most of the states that plant and harvest Tomatoes in large quantities. As of this morning, a basket of Tomato in Kaduna sold for as low as N800.

The leaders of Thoughts of Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta region at a meeting in Warri, Delta State, hosted by Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark over the weekend, warned Ijaw militants against their vow to declare a Republic of Niger-Delta.

Indian man who 'died' from snake bite wakes up seconds before cremation and dies again

A 23 year old Indian man simply identified as Sandeep, who was presumed dead after being bitten by a snake rose up from the dead at his own funeral, just as his body was about to be cremated.
Sandeep, was bitten by a snake while collecting wood from the forest far from his village. When he got back to his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family that he had been bitten by a snake.

Rather than take him to a hospital for treatment, his family took him to a traditional tantric practitioner in a nearby village, hoping that traditional medicine would cure him but the traditional cure didn't seem to have healed Sandeep, so they assumed he had died.

The family took his body to a local cemetery, where a funeral pyre was prepared. They placed his body and lit the fire, but by the time the fire almost reached his body, the young man started screaming, that was when people realised that he was still alive.

After he regained consciousness, his family took him to that same tantric practitioner who had previously declared him dead, instead of taking him to the hospital.

Again. the tantric couldn't save him and declared Sandeep dead for the second time.

He was then taken to the district hospital where he was confirmed dead and a post-mortem examination was done.

Malawi Govt arrests HIV positive Malawian man paid $4 to $7 to have unprotected sex with underaged girls

•BBC recently shared a special report featuring a middle aged HIV positive Malawian man, Eric Avina, whose responsibility is to conduct "sexual cleansing" for underaged and also matured women in Nsanje district in southern Malawi.  Avina in his community is referred to as Hyena, a traditional title given to a man hired by communities in several remote parts of southern Malawi to provide what's called sexual "cleansing". Teenage girls, after their first menstruation, are made to have sex over a three-day period with Avina to mark their passage from childhood to womanhood. Suspected robber stripped naked and beaten by security men in Benue State

•Security men, last night, caught a suspected robber around Commissioner Quarters in Makurdi, Benue State, stripped him naked and beat him black blue. 
As said by IDOMA VOICE, the suspect was said to be heading home after carrying out an operation when he was caught by the security men. He was nearly beaten to death. Recruitment Scam: Nigerian Air Force Two suspected fraudsters arrested by NAF

•Nigerian Air Force operatives have arrested two undergraduates out to defraud unsuspecting applicants of the ongoing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Recruitment Exercise 2016 and they were paraded today before the press in Abuja. The duo, Endurance Ehichoya (Principal Suspect) and David Eghosa (Accomplice), both 21 years old and students of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, were arrested in Ekpoma by NAF Intelligence operatives with the assistance of Zenith Bank officials.
